The old stationmaster of Crovan's Gate had decided to retire after a good many years of service to the North Western Railway. Knowing that the station could not run without a new head, The Fat Controller began to search for someone to take the retired man's place. After a while, he hired a qualified and confident man known as Mr. Bachmann. He was very grateful for being given the opportunity to run the station. Upon arriving at Crovan's Gate, Mr. Bachmann surveyed the platform. The station was very well kept, and he was promptly and kindly greeted by the other workers.
